Presents for Performances begins with a series of videos created with objects conferred to the artist via public gift registry. An off-shoot of Between Tin Men, the work is part of a longstanding engagement with fairy tale worlds, where everything—from rocks to household items—is alive and exists within a social system of reciprocity.  Whether the gift-givers conceive of themselves as patron, customer, or as “Daddy” as one solely wished to be acknowledged, they are considered collaborators in the work, and are put in relation with each other across the performer’s body, as objects from contributors reappear in later videos.
